History of the Express:

Based on records of past news papers, The Express began in the early 1920’s as the Wakefield High School Booster. The earliest copy of the Booster on our record is October 19, 1923. The Booster lasted through about the late 1920’s. Records of any school news paper disappear from late 1928 until the late 1990’s. Around 1998, the school news paper  emerged again as the Wakefield High School Warrior Times. It lasted only one year, then transforming into the Wakefield High School Spin in 1999. The Spin lasted until 2008 when it once again transformed into The Wakefield Express. The Wakefield Express Online was created by former adviser Mr. Martin.

The Early advisers of the news paper are unknown. The Spin era was  headed by Mrs. Fishman(then Mrs. Tinker) and Mrs. Schilling. The originator of the Express was the beloved Mrs. Farrell, succeeded in 2011-2012 by  Mr. Martin. The last paper edition was published in spring of 2014, and  Express moved exclusively online in 2014-2015, when it was taken over by the current adviser, Mr. Kruszewski.
