Royal Rumble Recap

Looking back 2 months ago, you would have seen one of the greatest Royal Rumble PPV’s of all time. If you missed it, here’s what happened!

The PPV kicked off with a match between two superstars with a heated rivalry, Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt. After Daniel Bryan left the insanity of the Wyatt Family, Bray wanted revenge, and that is exactly what he got. With finishing moves going back and forth, Daniel Bryan was just a move too short. Bray Wyatt ended the match by using his finishing move called Sister Abigail on the barricade outside the ring, and then bringing Daniel inside the ring for another Sister Abigail to leave Daniel defenseless for the 3-count.

The next match was between two monsters, the beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar, and the giant, Big Show. Big Show, being one of the only men in WWE history to be able to throw Brock Lesnar out of the ring, certainly frightened the beast incarnate Brock Lesnar going into this match, so he had to take drastic measures. Before the match even started, Brock Lesnar was handed a chair by his manager Paul Heyman, and he started hitting Big Show with it relentlessly. Not only was Brock Lesnar able to stay conscious when receiving a KO punch by the Big Show, but he was able to pull off his finishing move, known as the F-5, and pin the giant for the 3- count. Of course hitting Big Show with a chair from the beginning was brutal enough, but Brock Lesnar continued his chair strikes after the match until the chair broke. This assault on the Big Show left him unconscious on the floor while Brock Lesnar left the arena.

The last match before the actual Royal Rumble match, was a championship match between the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, and John Cena. This was a rematch from Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, and John Cena went into this match feeling 100%. Throughout the whole match, John Cena and Randy Orton delivered finishing moves after finishing moves and even copied each others moves to show complete disrespect. With an interference by the Wyatt Family, who were trying to distract Randy Orton, it actually costed John Cena that match. After the match, the Wyatt Family felt disrespected by John Cena, and started beating him up in the middle of the ring. Bray Wyatt finished him off with the Sister Abigail, and left John Cena laying in the ring.

The main event match of this PPV was the Royal Rumble, and it definitely lived up to the expectation of a main event match. The first two superstars to enter the Royal Rumble were CM Punk and Seth Rollins (from the shield). One by one, superstar after superstar entered the ring until their was one man left standing. The winner got a championship match at Wrestlemania and the stakes could not be higher. Some great moments of this Royal Rumble were when the legend Diesel entered the match. CM Punk was capable of being the fourth to last person in the Royal Rumble even though he entered first. Roman Reigns, who is the ‘powerhouse’ of the shield, eliminated 12 superstars, setting the record for the most people ever being eliminated from a single Royal Rumble match. The last two people in the ring were Roman Reigns and Batista. In the end, Batista eliminated Roman Reigns, and won the Royal Rumble.

This PPV is the definition of history in the making. It was absolutely incredible and full with action. I would suggest renting the Royal Rumble if you missed it because its going to be a lot less expensive. Have fun and let me know what you thought about the PPV!
