Wakefield High School Theater Arts Program is offering you two musicals this year! And this fall you can test out your spelling skills while going to see the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on November 22nd, 23rd and 24th in the theater here at Wakefield High. The show centers around a spelling bee that takes place annually at the Putnam Valley Middle School. As an audience member, you get a peek at what it’s like to be in the bee, as told by some very amusing young spellers and their zany adults who run the competition. It is directed by William Karvouniaris and vocally directed by Ana Morel. The choreographer is Kevin Patrick Martin. Bee features a variety of actors from all grade levels including seniors Matt Stanley and Carley Buckley, juniors Julia Blois, Adam Tarpey, Liam Dailey, and Jared Spies, sophomore Emily Sheeran, and freshmen Sam Bianchet-David and Emily Cierpial. There are a few students involved who also help out as audience spellers. Adam Tarpey, who plays the role of Barfée remarks “The show is coming along really well, and I am excited to see it all come together on opening night.”
